IT Systems Administrator

SUMMARY:

We are looking for a knowledgeable and proactive Systems Administrator to join our Information Technology team. This position plays a key role in maintaining the integrity, security, and performance of our IT infrastructure, with a primary focus on Windows Server environments, DNS, DHCP, networking, and system security. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with deep technical expertise and a passion for systems reliability and efficiency.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide general IT Support to end users in the environment
  • Administer, maintain, and troubleshoot Windows Server environments, including domain controllers, file servers, and application servers.
  • Manage DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, and Active Directory with a focus on uptime, best practices, and performance.
  • Support virtualization platforms such as VMware, including provisioning, maintenance, and resource optimization.
  • Maintain and improve network infrastructure including Cisco switches, routers, and firewalls.
  • Collaborate with IT leadership to plan and implement secure and scalable network architecture.
  • Ensure security best practices across all systems, including patching, antivirus, access control, and logging.
  • Monitor system performance and proactively resolve issues to maintain optimal uptime.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation for system configurations, procedures, and processes.
  • Coordinate system upgrades, patches, and maintenance windows with minimal disruption.
  • Assist in disaster recovery planning, testing, and execution.
  • Ensure compliance with IT policies, regulatory standards, and audit requirements.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation and provide after-hours support when necessary.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field; or equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in systems administration, preferably in a mid-size or enterprise environment.
  • Expertise in Windows Server administration (2016/2019/2022).
  • Strong understanding of DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, and Active Directory design and maintenance.
  • Hands-on experience with VMware and/or other virtualization technologies.
  • Solid understanding of Cisco network infrastructure including VLANs, routing, and access control.
  • Work with Microsoft365, Entra, and Azure
  • Experience with security best practices including endpoint protection, firewalls, and vulnerability mitigation.
  • Familiarity with scripting languages like PowerShell for automation and system management.
  • Strong documentation and process development skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
