IT Systems Administrator

SUMMARY:
We are looking for a knowledgeable and proactive Systems Administrator to join our Information Technology team. This position plays a key role in maintaining the integrity, security, and performance of our IT infrastructure, with a primary focus on Windows Server environments, DNS, DHCP, networking, and system security. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with deep technical expertise and a passion for systems reliability and efficiency.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide general IT Support to end users in the environment
- Administer, maintain, and troubleshoot Windows Server environments, including domain controllers, file servers, and application servers.
- Manage DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, and Active Directory with a focus on uptime, best practices, and performance.
- Support virtualization platforms such as VMware, including provisioning, maintenance, and resource optimization.
- Maintain and improve network infrastructure including Cisco switches, routers, and firewalls.
- Collaborate with IT leadership to plan and implement secure and scalable network architecture.
- Ensure security best practices across all systems, including patching, antivirus, access control, and logging.
- Monitor system performance and proactively resolve issues to maintain optimal uptime.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation for system configurations, procedures, and processes.
- Coordinate system upgrades, patches, and maintenance windows with minimal disruption.
- Assist in disaster recovery planning, testing, and execution.
- Ensure compliance with IT policies, regulatory standards, and audit requirements.
- Participate in an on-call rotation and provide after-hours support when necessary.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field; or equivalent experience.
- 3+ years of experience in systems administration, preferably in a mid-size or enterprise environment.
- Expertise in Windows Server administration (2016/2019/2022).
- Strong understanding of DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, and Active Directory design and maintenance.
- Hands-on experience with VMware and/or other virtualization technologies.
- Solid understanding of Cisco network infrastructure including VLANs, routing, and access control.
- Work with Microsoft365, Entra, and Azure
- Experience with security best practices including endpoint protection, firewalls, and vulnerability mitigation.
- Familiarity with scripting languages like PowerShell for automation and system management.
- Strong documentation and process development skills.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
