We Are Lynch.
Lynch Family Companies is dedicated to responsibly producing high-quality pork and natural beef, providing best-in-class products and services, and leading agriculture innovation by being strong stewards of the environment with a distinct commitment to our people, animals, communities, and customers.
From a modest hog- and calf-buying business in Waucoma, Iowa in 1916, Lynch Livestock transformed into a flourishing, family-owned organization and regional agriculture leader through the 20th century and beyond.
In 1916, Matt and Ed Lynch established strong agriculture roots by buying hogs and later calves that would be shipped to the Chicago Stockyards. In 1957, Hugh John Lynch took over what was then a hog buying business and continued to trade and feed cattle – relocating the farm to Waucoma, where they would later buy two sale barns, two buying stations, a grocery store, locker, restaurant, and a trucking operation.
Today, Gary Lynch is at the helm of Lynch Family Companies and has been since 1974. Under his leadership, Lynch Livestock became an incorporated enterprise in 1977 and continued to build, purchase, and lease buying stations in communities throughout the Midwest to develop marketing solutions for pork producers.
Innovation is the driving force behind our family of companies. We provide value to our customers by finding forward-thinking solutions to today’s agriculture challenges, including our focus on sustainable farming practices, the development of cutting-edge nutritional insights, responsible water usage and soil management, innovative animal care and more. At Lynch, we operate and innovate with integrity, honesty, and fairness.
As a family-owned organization, we never lose sight of our commitment to serving our people, animals and planet. Download our full Stewardship Report to see all the ways we’re contributing to our communities and being strong stewards of the environment.
