Hog Buyer/Yard Worker
Aberdeen, SD
Responsible for the proper handling of livestock that includes: sorting, counting, weighing, and tattooing.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Must be capable of regular and predictable attendance
- Able to work overtime as needed
- Able to work weekends and holidays as needed
- Maintain accurate inventory of livestock
- Sorting
- Loading/unloading
- Work directly with yard personnel
- Purchase livestock
- Pursue new growers
- Ensure that livestock is properly cared for
- Administrative responsibilities
- General Maintenance of grounds, facilities, and equipment
- Alleyways, pens, and chutes
- Vehicles and skid steers
- Mowing and weeding
- Office/Restroom cleaning
- Performs other duties as needed and/or assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Valid driver’s license and insurable under company guidelines
- Must have or be able to obtain a CDL
- Maintain certification and follow all TQA Guidelines in the Humane Handling of Livestock
- Positive customer service skills
