Diesel Mechanic

SUMMARY:
We are seeking a Diesel Mechanic to perform diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs on trucks, trailers, and equipment. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical skills, a commitment to quality work, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintain regular and dependable attendance.
- Perform preventative maintenance, inspections, diagnostics, and repairs on diesel-powered equipment.
- Troubleshoot and repair engine, drivetrain, brake, suspension, electrical, hydraulic, and fuel systems.
- Conduct road tests and operational checks to verify repairs.
- Identify parts and materials needed to complete repairs.
- Perform repairs ranging from routine maintenance to major component replacement.
- Inspect vehicles and equipment to ensure safe and reliable operation.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
- Accurately document repairs and work performed.
- Assist with other shop duties as assigned.
- Overtime and occasional weekend work may be required based on business needs.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Diesel repair experience preferred.
- Ability to diagnose and repair a variety of vehicle systems.
- Experience with heavy-duty trucks and trailers is beneficial.
- Detroit, Cummins, CAT, or other OEM engine experience is a plus.
- Technical school training, ASE certifications, OEM training, or equivalent experience are preferred but not required.
- Must provide basic hand tools.
- Valid driver's license required; CDL or ability to obtain a CDL is preferred.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
